Approaches
How I work
I draw on several well-established approaches rather than a single method. Which ones we use depends on you — what you're facing, how you like to work, and what feels useful as we go.
You don't need to know anything about these approaches before starting therapy, and you don't need to pick one. These pages are here if you're curious about what the work might involve.
In practice, sessions often blend ideas from more than one approach. Underneath all of them is the same foundation: a relationship where you can speak honestly and be met with curiosity rather than judgment.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
A skills-based approach for when emotions feel overwhelming, drawing on four areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
An approach that focuses less on getting rid of painful thoughts and more on changing your relationship with them — so they have less say in how you live.
